Many people experiencing major challenges in their life– including addiction, homelessness and post-prison rehabilitation – find their problems compounded by significant barriers to entering the workforce. To support people facing these obstacles, Howard Civil Engineering’s Foundations for Life social value recruitment programme provides life-changing employment opportunities and a stepping-stone to stability. We work with various partners, including The Howarth Foundation, to provide tailored training and development, on-site mentorship and ongoing pastoral support to enable structured career development for disadvantaged individuals.

We actively collaborate with a diverse range of local groups, charities, and organizations to maximize our community support efforts. Through a mix of exciting fundraisers, company sponsorships, and more, we’re able to donate thousands of pounds per year to the people that need it.

In 2023, we tackled the 15km Tough Mudder challenge, and raised over £17,000 for the Candlelighers Trust – a charity who support families under unimaginable circumstances.

We also engage in our annual #12DaysOfHCE event, where we support 12 individual groups across the North of England throughout December.
