BACKGROUND

Running concurrently with the final phase of our S278 works for Persimmon Homes at this site, Howard Civil Engineering was awarded the first phase for the provision of infrastructure for the 600-unit residential site.

The works included deep large-diameter attenuation drainage and a 5m deep existing combined sewer diversion in ground with running sands, and a high water table requiring system dewatering. A precast sectional tank attenuation and the construction of roads to binder course to enable Persimmon Homes access to commence plot building was also included in this first phase.

The site was extremely sensitive to many environmental and ecological issues, with substantial interest from various stakeholders.

More information regarding Howard Civil Engineering’s challenging £3.5m S278 works can be found here.
