BACKGROUND
Comprising 49 new 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes, Spa Fields is a brand-new development of homes in Askern, Doncaster.
Howard Civil Engineering is pleased to be the contractor of choice to deliver the roads and sewers package for this site, which sits on the site of the existing Askern Miners Welfare Club.
Members of the Askern Miners Welfare Club will continue to use the facility and the surrounding area throughout the duration of the scheme’s delivery and, as such, communication is paramount, and access must be maintained at all times.
The site is also bordered on the south boundary of the site by an existing beck for which we must consider surface water management and the pollution prevention.
This is our first project for Gleeson Homes following the successful deliveries of several products for housebuilders such as Erris Homes, Countryside Homes, Kier Living and Persimmon Homes.
SCOPE OF WORK
Site clearance
Site clearance and preparation of a brownfield site.
Attenuation pipes
Installation of large diameter attenuation pipes located in the highway.
Surface water and foul water pumping station
Construction of adoptable surface water and foul water pumping station with associated rising main.
Foul water outfall connection
Foul water outfall connection located in an existing highway which will involve coordination with existing businesses and local school.
S38 highway
Construction of the S38 highway to adoptable standards.
