Today’s #12DaysofHCE donation is in support of the Old Fire Station, a space where people - old and young - can come along, socialise, and participate in various activities. You may remember that we also donated to and supported them last year as part of our Christmas campaign, even appearing on BBC Look North (more on that here)!

The Old Fire Station is home to a number of what it calls ‘tenants’: Third Sector Organisations “working with local people to provide services and support” within the centre! These include People In Action, Space2, Zest, Healthwatch Leeds, Gipsil, Leeds Cookery School, and Elevate. From teaching essential life skills like cooking, to assisting people with a wide array of advice and support, the Old Fire Station brings its tenants and the surrounding community together to create something truly special.

Being only a short drive away from our head office in Seacroft, Leeds, we were delighted to deliver a £400 cheque to the Old Fire Station, and hope that the donation will help support the various activities they work hard to run!

That’s not all though: our Sustainability Manager, Sophie Henderson, will be volunteering there on Thursday the 14th, helping the team as they once again serve Christmas dinners!
