Pupils at Calverley CE Primary School received a fantastic Christmas surprise last week courtesy of Howard Civil Engineering!

Our Greengates junction site team kindly presented over 400 books to the school so that each child would have a gift to open this Christmas.

Headteacher Mr Curran commented: “We are absolutely delighted for the very generous support of Howard Civil Engineering in helping us to ensure Santa can give a Christmas gift to every child in school this year. Their commitment to supporting the community in which they are working is very much appreciated by everyone at school and will help to put smiles on lots of faces at Calverley CE Primary this Christmas!”

The children excitedly unwrapped their books last Friday during a festive-filled day organised by staff and parents at the school.

Simon Doling, site agent on the Greengates junction scheme for Howard Civil Engineering, presented members of the PTA with the donation earlier this month.

“It is wonderful to be able to spread some festive cheer in what has undoubtedly been a difficult year for everyone and we are very happy that the children loved the books,” he said. “We have nurtured a very positive relationship with members of the Greengates community over the past six months and it is very rewarding to be able to give something back to a community that has been so welcoming.”Simon Doling, site agent on the Greengates junction scheme for Howard Civil Engineering, presented members of the PTA with the donation earlier this month.

Although work will continue on the junction over the Christmas period, Howard Civil Engineering will be pausing works from Thursday 24^th December to Sunday 3^rd January.  During this time, we will be increasing maintenance of the existing traffic management measures in place and urge anyone who should notice an emergency during this period to call the RTS 24/7 call-out number on 01724 848 246.
