Last week, following the Chancellor’s launch of the National Infrastructure Commission in York, a body that will ensure that the billions of pounds the Government is to spend on transport links in the North will deliver real benefits for people and businesses, George Osborne made a visit to the A1L2B site.

He was also joined by former Transport Secretary Lord Adonis, Highways England chairman Colin Mathews, and Richmond MP Rishi Sunak. Together, they showed their commitment and appreciation to the workforce for their efforts on creating better links throughout the country.

Howard Civil Engineering is currently undertaking a £1.5million drainage package for Carillion Morgan Sindall JV at the site.

The National Infrastructure Commission's initial focus will include work on improving connectivity in northern England - a key part of the Chancellor's Northern Powerhouse agenda.
