Welcome to newsletter number 32 providing you with information regarding the Hard Ings Road Improvement scheme in Keighley.
Progress, the past 2 weeks
The temporary contraflow traffic management system has now been in place for approximately 4 weeks and, whilst we have made some very minor alterations, we are pleased to say it is working well for both road users and our work force. Works are progressing well on the southern flank of the scheme. We have worked alongside Bradford Council to make key value engineering decisions which will help us achieve our programme. Recent passersby may have noticed that we have undertaken excavation and site clearance works, and have commenced installation of new kerbs and kerb drainage. Below ground, we are continuing to install new drainage, urban traffic control and Northern Powergrid infratructure and equipment.
The next 2 weeks
We will be continuing these works over the next two weeks, and will progress towards Beechcliffe Roundabout. We are also looking forward to installing new street lighting and road traffic signs to the southern flank. As part of this progression, please note Back Byrl Street Will be closed to through traffic on 10th and 11th August followed by a similar closure to Back Caledonia Road on 12th and 13th August. This is to allow new kerbs and pipework to be installed at their junction with Hard Ings Road. Please also be aware that traffic management measures will be in place on Bradford Road and Aire Valley Road as we install urban traffic control ducting. This work will be programmed to be undertaken in the near future. We will be sure to issue another newsletter once the start date for these works are confirmed. We apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause, and thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we undertake improvement works to Hard Ings Road and Beechcliffe Roundabout.
