Hard Ings Road Improvement Scheme

Hard Ings Newsletter No 18

08 January 2020

Newsletter No 18. Week commencing Monday 6th January. Weeks 36 - 37.

(First published Friday 3rd Jan)

Happy New Year! Welcome to your eighteenth newsletter providing you with information regarding the Hard Ings Road Improvement scheme in Keighley.

Traffic Management to A629 to be re-installed this weekend, on Sunday night.

The traffic management on the approach to Beechcliffe Roundabout, reducing the A629 back down to one lane, will be re-installed on the night of Sunday 5th prior to us returning to work on the 6th January. The layout will be different to that installed before Christmas. This time Lane 1 will be closed to enable us to carry out work in the verge.

Please note the traffic disruption on Monday morning is likely to be severe as many return to work and school on that day. This, together with the added disruption experienced during the first few days of a traffic management change, is likely to impact traffic in the local area.

Please allow extra time for your journeys.

The next 2 weeks

Works to the verge of the A629 including ducting for the operation of the new traffic signals, replacement of the vehicle crash barrier and provision of new street lights, and the narrow widening of Lane 1.
Continuation of works to the other traffic islands of Beechcliffe Roundabout.
Completion of the YW diversion works.
Northern Powergrid commence their electricity cable diversion works.
Completion of works to Fibreline and the allotment area.

Affected bus routes on Lawkholme Lane

The following diversions remain in place by the bus companies previously using the now closed Lawkholme Lane junction.

Hard Ings Road/Lawkholme Lane, Keighley - P23 Steeton Primary

Route P23 for Steeton Village Primary School will have an amended route. There will be no pick up on Lawkholme Lane.
AM: the bus will start at the bus stop on Skipton Road at East Avenue (08:22) then along Skipton Road to Devonshire Street and the usual route thereafter. Therefore the bus will not operate along Lawkholme Lane.
PM: as per the usual route from the school as far as the roundabout at Skipton Road/Hard Ings then continue along Skipton Road (16:10 at East Avenue) toward Devonshire Street and the usual route thereafter.
Those passengers who usually board or alight at the stops at the top of Lawkholme Lane near Hard Ings are advised to use the bus stop on Skipton Road at East Avenue.
This amendment will continue for the duration of the works at Hard Ings or until such time the turn restriction is lifted.

A new stop will be in place near ASDA for the diverted route.
