Lane closures on A629 continue.

************DISRUPTION EXPECTED***********

Welcome to your sixteenth newsletter providing you with information regarding the Hard Ings Road Improvement scheme in Keighley.

Progress for the last 2 weeks

Good progress has been made on the A629 central reservation and associated Beechcliffe rbt traffic islands these past 2 weeks. We've completed the kerbs, tactile paving, traffic signal pole bases, traffic signal control ducts and duct chambers, street lighting ducting and vehicle barrier.
We'll be surfacing the new areas of carriageway next week.

Yorkshire Water have continued with the water main diversion works.

Gates and fencing has been installed at Fibreline and the ramps prepared for surfacing.

Work for the next 2 weeks

The surfacing subcontractor will return early in the week to carry out surfacing to the A629 and Fibreline's car park and access ramps.

Following the surfacing, the current phase of traffic management on the A629 will be adjusted to enable us to work on the nearside verge realignment. This should cause no additional disruption but please be aware that your usual alignment around the roundabout may alter from day to day.

The work to the A629 will continue with the alterations to the verge where we will be installing ducts stretching back 120m from the roundabout.
The ducts will ultimately contain the cables that link to the ' induction loops' that will be cut into the finished carriageway surfacing. The induction loops can measure the amount and the speed of traffic passing over them, approaching the roundabout. Messages are sent to the traffic signal control equipment which makes adjustments to the traffic signal sequence to maintain and maximise traffic flow at peak times.

We'll also be carrying out new signage, street lighting columns, vehicle barrier and slightly widening the carriageway to provide the space required for 3 lanes.

YW will continue with the major water main diversion works. This major item of work needs to be wholly completed to enable us to progress onto the actual carriageway widening works. The whole new water main needs to be laid from end to end, and jointed onto the old main, before YW can remove the old main allowing us to progress with the new carriageway and footpath construction.

Lane closures on A629 continue. ******DISRUPTION EXPECTED ******

We anticipate the lane closures on the A629 will remain in place until early spring. This will continue to cause traffic disruption in the area, especially at peak times.
We would advise you to take alternative routes during this time, if possible, and also allow extra time for your journeys, both at peak times and throughout the day.
Please bear with us during this period of increased traffic disruption, necessary for the resulting long term improvements to your road network.

Affected bus routes on Lawkholme Lane

The following diversions remain in place by the bus companies previously using the now closed Lawkholme Lane junction.
