Newsletter 01

Welcome to your Germany Beck Project Newsletter

After many months of planning Howard Civil Engineering Ltd are ready to commence works for Persimmon Homes to construct the new junction off the A19 in Fulford.
The works will commence this coming Monday 13th June and will continue for a period of approximately 40 weeks, completing in March 2017.
The aim of this regular newsletter is to keep you up to date with progress, advise you of temporary footpath closures and also specific periods of road works that might affect your usual journeys.

During the first week we will be establishing our office and material storage compound along with a car parking area for our employees.
We shall also be commencing the site clearance and the relocation of topsoil from the junction footprint.

Details of the footpath closures on the A19 and Fordlands Road planned in the next couple of weeks will follow in due course. Please be assured that pedestrian and vehicular access along both the A19 and Fordlands Road will be maintained at all times during the works.

Shown below is our compound location and access point for employee vehicles. Generally our employees will access the compound in the morning, 8am, and leave late afternoon, around 6pm. We practice vehicle sharing and expect numbers of vehicles using this entrance to be low.
A compound will be established in the Persimmon land to the rear of the former care home. The compound area will be accessed off Germany Lane. We have to make some improvements, as specified by the CYCC Right of Way officer, to the entrance of the existing Germany Lane track to ensure a safe right of way for all pedestrians walking down the Germany Lane track.

Safety for children

Please be assured that the different areas of works will be securely fenced at all times to ensure the safety of the public.
There will be gates erected off Fordlands Road to allow us to access the areas of work to the east and west of Fordlands Road. These gates will remain closed and only opened when we require access for deliveries of equipment and material to site. Pedestrians will be given right of way along the footpaths but please be aware of deliveries using this entrance on occasion.
