Background

We are thrilled to have delivered the groundworks and six-storey reinforced concrete frame on this exciting new mixed use development in Leeds for our client, Esh Construction.

Ironworks is a 0.35 hectacre residential site located in Holbeck Urban Village, an increasingly popular suburb of Leeds which was crowned UK and Ireland's 'Best Neighbourhood' at the 2015 Urbanism Awards. Ironworks comprises 51 luxury apartments, 2 penthouses and 15 townhouses.

This was the first residential scheme to feature houses in the Urban Village for many years, marking a new chapter in the development of Leeds South Bank, and the project made headlines after being awarded at the 2019 Housing Design Awards.

Ironworks topped out one month ahead of schedule in August 2020 despite COVID-19-related setbacks.

Scope of work

The foundations are a pilecap and ground beam solution
Due to restricted space onsite we intend to prefabricate a large portion of reinforcement up in our yard which is under six miles away, which will support our ‘just time’ delivery culture on the scheme
With a floor plate in excess of 900m², the scheme consist of over 2500m³ of structural concrete and over 300 tonnes of reinforcement
